The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) as administered by the non-profit Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is a test that assesses the ability of students wishing to study MBA programs in Business Administration abroad.
The GMAT is not an English proficiency test similar to the likes of the TOEFL or IELTS. Rather, the GMAT is a computer-adaptive test (CAT) specifically designed to measure language and mathematical abilities. Rather than attempting to measure the extent of a candidate’s knowledge, the exam strives to gauge how candidates apply their knowledge in creative thinking and problem-solving questions.
The structure of the GMAT is as follows:
Scoring: 200-800 points
The examination consists of 4 parts, with the following time allocated per section:
